Sporting News has released its annual seven-round mock draft to mark the start of draft season. With six edge rushers and five quarterbacks taken in the first round, the draft is shaping up to be unpredictable and full of potential surprises.

In his second and final mock of the 2024 NFL Draft, Peter Schrager projects as many as six quarterbacks being selected within the top 15 picks. Analysts have been buzzing about the depth of the quarterback class, and Schrager's mock reflects that excitement.

Standout edge rushers are also expected to be highly sought-after. The mock projects six edge rushers being drafted in the first round, including widely-rated prospects like Nolan Smith and Shemar Stewart.

The mock also features five trades within the top 15 picks. The Houston Texans, currently holding the No. 1 overall pick, are projected to trade down to the No. 4 spot, landing a bevy of extra picks in the process.

At No. 29 and No. 30, NFL Draft analyst Pat Yates has made late-breaking updates to his projections. The surest pick in the draft is expected to be Bryce Young, a dynamic quarterback from Alabama.
