Liverpool 2-3 Manchester City: Reds' quadruple hopes end
City win thrilling FA Cup semi-final
Liverpool's quadruple hopes were ended as Manchester City came from behind to win a thrilling FA Cup semi-final at Wembley.
Ibrahima Konate gave Liverpool an early lead but City hit back through Jack Grealish and Bernardo Silva before the break.
Gabriel Jesus put City ahead for the first time in the second half and although Sadio Mane levelled for Liverpool, Grealish's late header sent City through to the final.
Liverpool had won the Carabao Cup in February and remain in the Premier League title race and Champions League, but their hopes of an unprecedented quadruple are over.
City will now face Chelsea or Crystal Palace in the final on 14 May.
The game was billed as a clash between the two best teams in England and it lived up to the hype, with both sides creating chances and playing at a high tempo.
Liverpool took the lead after just nine minutes when Konate rose highest to head home a corner from Andy Robertson.
City equalised 10 minutes later when Grealish tapped in from close range after Kevin De Bruyne's shot had been saved by Alisson Becker.
Silva put City ahead in the 30th minute with a fine strike from outside the box.
Jesus made it 3-1 in the 53rd minute after a mistake by Alisson, who failed to deal with a cross from De Bruyne.
Mane pulled a goal back for Liverpool in the 59th minute with a header from a cross by Luis Diaz.
But Grealish's header in the 78th minute proved to be the winning goal and ended Liverpool's hopes of a quadruple.
