Formula 1 qualifying at the Canadian Grand Prix was dominated by wet weather conditions, with Red Bull driver Max Verstappen emerging as the frontrunner.
Sainz, Tsunoda, and Stroll Penalized
Carlos Sainz (Ferrari), Yuki Tsunoda (AlphaTauri), and Lance Stroll (Aston Martin) were each penalized three grid places for impeding other drivers during the session.
Verstappen Claims Pole Position
Despite the challenging conditions, Verstappen showcased his exceptional driving skills and secured pole position for the race. Alpine's Fernando Alonso surprisingly qualified second, ahead of Verstappen's teammate Sergio Perez and Ferrari's Charles Leclerc.
